Chris Hanson

Chris Hanson is a senior infrastructure and renewable energy executive with more than 30 years of experience across heavy civil construction and utility-scale energy development. 

Chris most recently served in a senior leadership role at White Construction, part of Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives (IEA), where he helped scale the company’s renewable energy platform into a leading engineering, procurement, and construction provider. During his tenure, he played a key role in growing the business from approximately $20 million in revenue to nearly $1.8 billion. 

He contributed to the development of more than 27 gigawatts of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects and helped guide the organization through major corporate milestones, including its transition to private equity ownership under Oaktree Capital Management, its public listing on the Nasdaq in 2018, and its subsequent sale to MasTec (NYSE: MTZ) in 2023. 

Earlier in his career, Chris held roles in field engineering, estimating, and business development within the bridge and highway construction sector. 

Chris has also served as Principal of HST Advisors since 2009, providing strategic advisory services across infrastructure and energy sectors. In 2023, he transitioned from full-time executive leadership to focus on investment, startup, and advisory roles. 

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
