Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom, a Commitment to Diversity in Action

At LRE, our mission is powered by our people. Juneteenth is a meaningful time to reflect on that. This day commemorates June 19, 1865, when the last remaining enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were informed of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation became law. Juneteenth marks the end of legal slavery in the U.S. and the beginning of a continued journey toward greater equality and inclusion for Black Americans.

At LRE, Juneteenth is a time to celebrate and reflect on our commitment to an inclusive workplace where every voice is respected, supported, and heard. It’s an expression of our value of Diversity in Action—recognizing the stories that shape our nation and our company, and elevating voices and experiences that deserve greater visibility and appreciation.
