As the long hot summer of ’26 moves ahead, so too does planning and preparation for the Harvey Solar project. As part of our continuing commitment to communicating with you, each month we’re providing information on key activities with the project, as well as highlighting our continuing commitment to supporting our neighbors.
At this stage, Harvey Solar continues to be in the design phase, with engineering and site layout details still being developed in coordination with the state, county and local organizations. As we move closer to the construction start date, Harvey Solar will provide timely updates to the community.
In the meantime, here’s some updates on what we’re doing to proudly support and celebrate Licking County.
Fun at the Fair
Nothing says summer like corn dogs, livestock and rides at the annual Hartford Fair. Harvey Solar is excited to be a sponsor of this year’s Fair, which runs from Aug. 9-15. We’re hosting an information table on August 10, come by and check us out. We can’t wait to share the fun and catch the Derby Dogs Demolition that evening. See you at the Fair!
GROWing Licking County
Licking County’s growth was the main topic of the July Investor and Partner Luncheon sponsored by GROW Licking County, and new member Harvey Solar was there. The event, held at Denison University, provided an overview of county-wide development, updates on progress, and the County’s strategic planning process. Some of the main statistics reported at the luncheon included:
– Ohio is the #1 state for business, Licking County is important in this role
– Licking County is the 2nd largest manufacturing county in Central Ohio.
– Licking County was the 6th fastest growing Ohio county from 2020-2025
– Licking County ranks 6th in home sale price/square footage in the region
– Licking County experienced strong rent growth of 8% in 2025, passing the national average
C-TEC STEM Camp
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education is important not just to Harvey Solar, but for the leaders of the future. Licking County’s Career & Technology Centers (C-TEC) recently held a STEM Camp for local 4th – 6th graders interested in exploring careers and hands-on skills involved in engineering, technology, and manufacturing. Harvey Solar was a proud lunch sponsor and volunteer at the event which featured workshops to test students’ skills and to learn and work with others. Harvey Solar helped sponsor lunch at the Camp, and the chicken and mac and cheese were a huge hit!
